Buddist Temple
One of the largest centers for Buddism in South America is located near to the Paraná River.
Within the 42 hectares of gardens are some 120 statues. 108 statues are identical and aligned to face the sunset. Initally appearing to be an army, each one in fact represents a reincarnation of the Buddha on Earth.
These are watched over by a 7 meter high golden replica of Mi La Pu-San, the famous sitting buddha.
The main temple measures 2.5 thousand square meters and is two stories high (although access to this area is restricted). |
